THERE will be no money for the construction of the Yeppen floodplain upgrade according to the LNP Capricornia candidate Michelle Landry.

At a meeting of the Senate Estimates Committee on Monday, Labor said there would be no funding for the Yeppen South upgrade and only the $5 million had been allocated for the planning and design – to get it “shovel ready”.

And when Senator Barnaby Joyce, who was at the meeting, asked: “Is there any money for the construction of the Yeppen floodplain in the forward estimates?”

“No there isn’t Senator,” the Department of Infrastructure and Transport’s Mr Roland Pittar said.

And Ms Landry slammed the decision.
